Emporia Greensville Humane Society is dedicated to finding the best loving lifetime homes for their animals. The adoption contract is a legal and binding contract between the adopter and the humane society. If for any reason the adoption does not work out EGHS wants the animal returned back to them.
The adoption process consists of a pre-application, once that is approved then there is a meet and greet between the adopter and the animal to make sure it is a good fit.
Once the meeting takes place and it is a good match, the actual adoption contract is completed. The adoption contact is a legal and binding contract geared for the protection of the animal. The adoption fee for dogs is $225.00, for cats $195.00. When you adopt a dog or cat the animal will get a spay/neuter, all up-to-date vaccines, and a micro-chip.
All our animals are spayed/neutered, if the adoption takes place before the animal is 6 months old the spay/neutering will be done at that time.

Also, if you're interested in adopting a cat or dog and want to see it and read a little bit about it here's what you can do. On the main page tap on animals (it will be underlined) located at the top of the page. After you tapped of animals it will only come up with a few cats, but there are plenty more. Then go to list all animals which is in read and also underlined. Then you should see all of the cats and dogs that we have.
